Online Gambling's Mr. Big

from the making-online-casinos-legit dept

Business 2.0 has a profile about the largest online casino that is trying to convince the US government that it’s a legitimate, upstanding business. They’re trying to distance themselves from other, shadier, online gambling operations, while also setting up a culture that gets online gamblers hooked. There’s a great part in the article where one gambler who lost $20,000 complains that the games are fixed. In response, someone from the casino points out that, averaged over time, the gambler had really only spent about $10/hour – which is a “fair deal” for entertainment.
