See-Through Security: Now Rated PG

from the phew dept

I remember reading a little while ago about a new “full body” scanner for use in airports that would use radio signals to see what objects you might have hidden under your clothes. Unfortunately, the technology worked a little too well – to the point that whoever was viewing the scan basically got to see the person they were scanning naked. For obvious reasons, this didn’t go over well with the flying public. Now, however, a company has revamped the technology such that any objects you’re carrying will appear on a “gender-neutral mannequin”. Apparently, aspiring voyeurs will need to find a different line of work than being an airport scanner operator.
