PayPal Tightens Transaction Reins

from the can't-sell-that dept

eBay continues to clamp down on the usefulness of PayPal. Their latest move is to put in place a list of restricted items that you can’t use PayPal for – including any sort of “adult item”. Of course, there is a loophole. You can use PayPal to pay for such items only if you’re selling it on eBay – which, of course, is angering plenty of people who see it as a way for eBay to force people to use their service. Considering the whole point of PayPal is that people can use it to easily pay other people for anything, these seem like pointless restrictions. I also wonder how they enforce these restrictions. If I remember correctly, when you PayPal someone you can say whatever you want in describing what it’s being used for.
