Conning The Cable Cons

from the sneaky-sneaky-sneaky dept

In the scam business, it makes sense to try to con other scammers, since they’re less likely to complain loudly (and thus, admit that they were conning, themselves). So, it’s no surprise that the latest “scam” is to sell cable boxes that claim you can get Pay-Per-View channels for free, when the reality is the boxes store up the orders to be transmitted to the cable company at a later date. In other words, while it appears that the device lets you get free PPV for one to three weeks, all it’s really doing is delaying the bill.
