Can Geo-Location Services Find The Way?

The latest area that wireless carriers are banking on to give them more revenue from customers is location-based services. All the carriers are starting to experiment with different possible location-based offerings, though not all the trials have gone well. Like many wireless features, location-based offerings seem likely to catch on in Asia first, with the US lagging by quite a bit. The article makes it sound as though the US carriers are going through the same battle they go through on any “data” service – people on the voice side don’t want to mess with the cash cow, and rarely see any reason to push data offerings or additional features.
