A Blogger Is A Stalker's Dream
from the nice-try,-Dave... dept
Dave Green, known (partly) for being one of the guys who writes the (still brilliant) NTK each week, is doing his own bit of blogger backlash. He first whines about how no one gives him credit for being an early blogger, and then goes over the usual ground about how most blogs are boring and no one reads them. This has been covered before, and has little to do with the point of blogging. His final point, though, is that blogs are a “stalker’s dream” since they can follow all sorts of details about the lives of whoever they’re stalking. Again, this has little to do with the actual blog itself, but with what people choose to put in their blog. The blog itself is just a tool that opens up many possibilities. Certainly, there is a ton of awful, useless, mindless blogs out there, but does that mean the whole concept should go away?
