Cyberstrategery: The Administration's War Against A Bogus Threat

An article in Slate picks apart the government’s fear-mongering in their National Strategy To Secure Cyberspace, and points out that most of the “threats” discussed are overhyped or backed up with little to no data or rationale. We’ve said the same thing before. To be certain, there are plenty of vulnerabilities out there – and security is increasingly important. However, all the stories about how some hackers around the world are going to turn off all our electricity seem a bit overblown. The writer of this piece blames Hollywood for making people think these threats are more likely than they really are.
