Iranians Arrested For Net Dating
from the talk-about-rebels... dept
With all the new advertising Match.com and other online dating sites are doing, maybe they ought to take a look at Iran. Especially to young people, things that are “forbidden” seems much more appealing. So, I wonder if there’s been a run on online dating sites in Iran now that dozens of Iranians have been arrested for practicing online dating. While other nations have been known for cracking down on internet usage, Iranians have largely had more open access to the internet. The theory was that the leadership there just wasn’t that familiar with the internet. It sounds like that may be changing.

Good for them
I’ve been in internet chat rooms for many years, and I can tell you that Middle Easterners stand out for their perverted, grotesque behavior. They don’t deal with the freedom of the net in a mature way. They don’t do anyone any good.
If “freedom of speech” means having to deal with more perverts, I want no part of it.
Re: Good for them
Once again, dorpus, I ask that you try (just once, perhaps) to refrain from making broad generalizations about other cultures.

Keep trying Mike,
I think you are making a difference…
Ok, well maybe not.
Of course I gave up on Dorpus about 3 months ago.
