Using WiFi To Bridge The Digital Divide
An interesting story from Boston about how a public housing project there is using WiFi to provide high speed wireless internet access to all of its residents. This particular housing project sounds like it’s been ahead of the technology curve for quite some time – offering free computers, wired connections to all units, and a “community computer room”, where free classes are given. However, now they’re trying to upgrade to a WiFi system, which will let residents use computers all over the complex, without having to plug in.
