Banias Will Launch As Centrino
Today Intel announced the Centrino brand for their lightweight wireless laptop platform. When they originally started discussing the platform publicly it was under the code name Banias and focused almost exclusively on 802.11b. The Centrino brand includes the 802.11b products and other wireless connectivity options they plan to offer in the future such as 802.11a/g and Bluetooth.
