Wi-Fi Money Makers
Who will make money from Wi-Fi in 2003? It won’t be carriers or WISPs. No has yet to show that selling Wi-Fi service on it’s own can make money. Carriers will offer Wi-Fi to help build out wireless data networks and up sell customers to more widely available, albeit more expensive and slower, 3G services. The real winners will be Wi-Fi equipment makers who will win contracts from the carriers to help them build out the networks.
