Don't Ask Jeeves About Banner Ads

from the gone-gone-gone dept

I’m actually a little surprised it’s taken this long, but Ask Jeeves has decided to ditch banner ads in favor of the more targeted premium listings that seem to be the big focus for every “search” company these days. It’s certainly more targeted, less intrusive, and less annoying for end-users. At the same time, most people admit that the typical banner ad has mostly run its course. It’s almost become second nature to completely ignore banner ads these days. Of course, there are those (including me) who might wonder why anyone uses Ask Jeeves any more at all, banners or not.
