Man Allegedly Uses GPS To Stalk Ex-Girlfriend

from the brilliant dept

Some people simply deserve to go to jail for a very long time. Here’s a story of a guy who was upset about his long-time girlfriend kicking him out. He began stalking her, showing up wherever she was, even when she went to small, out-of-the-way places. After complaining to the police, they took a look and found that he had installed a GPS device in her car, under the hood. Now he’s being charged with “stalking, burglary, second-degree reckless endangerment and disorderly conduct”.

what is with this punishment stuff?

This guy is clearly messed up in the head.

He did nothing to harm this woman, though he was ceratinly annoying.

Given the amount of damage he could have done to her with that information, and the fact that he merely annoyed her rather than harmed her, I’d suggest close psychiatric supervision, but to throw this guy in jail for 20 years is only going to twist him until he’s permanently bent. He will eventually get out and be really messed up.

Jail time in cases like this won’t fix anthing. It will delay the problem, still cost $20,000+ a year and possibly lead to horrible revenge and this guy being nearly unhirable when he gets out.

I think if someone was stalking you 24/7 you’d change your tune that they weren’t doing anything. Does he have to kill her before the cops will do anything? No, that’s why we have anti-stalking laws — because people have in the past been murdered by their stalkers.

I think 20 years in Federal-pound-you-in-the-ass prison sounds just about right…

I know this sounds difficult, but he was in a relationship with her. That doesn’t give him any rights over her, but since he was doing this with someone he failed to continue to have a relationship with, and since realtionships are by there essence emotionally charged, I think you could extend a little understanding and beneift of the doubt. He did not pick a stranger at random and stalk her; I think counseling would be more effective than punishment.

For you to suggest that prison should be a place where you are anally raped when you have not anally raped anyone suggests to me that you enjoy the idea of anal rape.

Prison is a place where those who cannot be members are society are removed from society for the safety of society, not a place for the anonymous toruture of the perpetrator. Prisons do not exist to fulfill your gay dungeon bondage fantasies.
