Quicktime On DoCoMo Phones

NTT DoCoMo has unveiled some new 3G phones (hoping that people will finally start buying them) and also announced they’ll be supporting 3GPP video on their phones. 3GPP is based on MPEG-4 video, based on Apple’s Quicktime technology. For a long time there have been questions about whether or not people would actually watch video on their mobile phones, so it will be interesting to see how people respond to this. In the end, it will probably come down to what videos are available to watch and what sort of quality users get over the 3G network.
