An Answer To Wi-Fi's Discontents
An opinion piece from News.com talks about the software that Transat is working on to allow carriers to tie together their existing networks with local Wi-Fi hotspots allowing users to roam accross them and connect to the best network possible at any time. The article makes it sound like this is an amazing feat, but people have been talking about this for quite some time, and Transat certainly isn’t the only company working on this. The article does make the point that if anyone can get a system like this working it would probably make people more willing to set up Wi-Fi hotspots.
