EPIC Challenges RIAA Request To Colleges
from the the-rhetoric-continues dept
Following the news that the RIAA has sent out a bunch of letters to various colleges and universities telling them it was their responsibility to monitor student usage of file sharing platforms, privacy group EPIC has sent out letters to those same colleges and universities opposting the idea. EPIC points out that monitoring student usage would be inappropriate and “incompatible with intellectual freedom”. Isn’t it fun how no one is spending any time really trying to resolve these issues – and instead they just pull to opposite extremes?
