Band Leveraging Grokster In Album Launch

from the someone-gets-it...-maybe? dept

I can’t wait to hear what the RIAA has to say about this, but the music group, Insane Clown Posse is Grokster to help promote their new album. Grokster, of course, is one of the many file sharing companies to come out following the death of Napster. The band is using Grokster to promote the album and to try to sell additional merchandise such as clothing and posters – while encouraging people to download a song from their album (and asking them to buy the actual CD). It will be interesting to see how well this promotion works, though, of course, it really does depend on how many people actually like the music of the Insane Clown Posse.
