Elections And Technology
from the politicians-need-to-learn dept
So, it’s election season here in the US, and it’s not surprising to see a few articles about elections and technology. MSNBC is running two different ones. First they look at the always popular issue of online voting, and discuss all the pros and cons. They also have a story looking at how politicians are still fumbling around as they try to understand how to use technology to help them campaign. In other words, politicians are sending out more spam than ever, and have apparently discovered the telemarketers’ best friend: the autodialer. It seems that plenty of politicians are actively misusing these technologies (and possibly breaking federal campaign regulations), but no one is doing much to stop them.
