Training Our Army Through Video Games

from the video-games-of-mass-destruction dept

Salon has a long article looking at the Army’s latest attempt to use video games as both a recruiting tool and a training device. While some call the games propaganda, many say that they’re both effective and needed right now. The account of one soldier who was in Afghanistan describing how being in the thick of a fight reminded him of playing a video game is a bit unnerving. Update: Wired is running a story today saying that the same people who came up with the video game have now set up a solider in Afghanistan with his own blog. However, most people think it’s a little too fake.
