Slumping Techs Go To Washington

from the the-market-of-last-resort dept

So, we all know that the economy is bad, and it’s tough to be a technology company these days because no one is buying. Tech companies looking around have discovered that, wait, there is still one place that’s spending money (in fact, more money than before) and that’s the federal government. All sorts of tech companies are beefing up their government sales efforts in an attempt to get some of that cash. I knew this story sounded familiar, and that’s because we wrote about it last year. Also, a year ago, we had an article pointing out that relying on the government as your main customer could be dangerous for Silicon Valley due to the inefficiencies of government contracts – and the fact that you’re completely reliant on pleasing a single (and very fickle) customer.
