Secret Service Spending Time Wardriving For Security

from the they-really-have-nothing-better-to-do? dept

It seems that with everything going on in the world these days the secret service has nothing better to do than go wardriving with a Pringles can, searching for open WiFi networks, so they can bug its owners. Not really sure what I think about this. On the one hand, it’s nice to see the Secret Service think they can help alert some companies that might not realize their networks are open about their lack of security – but it’s still completely legal to have an open network. More importantly, doesn’t the secret service have plenty of more pressing thing to do with its time?
