AT&T Broadband Offers Low Speed Broadband

from the oxymoron dept

Continuing their plan to test out tiered pricing for their broadband cable modem service, AT&T is going in the right direction (this time) by offering a lower speed, cheaper tier mainly meant for people who just want always on access – and don’t care as much about speed. The service will be limited to 75kbps and will cost $27/month. They’re running trials with it now to see if people are interested in such an offering. Considering it’s just a couple of dollars more than AOL, and doesn’t tie up the phone line – I could certainly see some people finding it appealing.
