802.11g Making Progress
Besides limited range, speed is the biggest gripe with 802.11b. 802.11a is supposed to fix that, but it operates in a different frequency range and isn’t compatible with 802.11b. Luckily we’re getting closer to 802.11g which is backwards compatible and faster. If this sounds confusing, don’t worry, soon enough you’ll be able to get a wireless card that works with all three standards.
