Home Smart Home

from the too-many-gizmos dept

I guess it’s not surprising that many of the latest home automation technologies are probably going to show up in Japan first. Matsushita (better known here for their Panasonic brand) has been showing off their “houses of tomorrow” that include things like a closet that suggests what to wear (based on the weather and if you’re trying to impress anyone) and a camera in a fridge that will send images to your mobile phone (now there’s a use for MMS) so you know what you’re missing when out shopping. The article also talks about some technologies that other companies are working on, like the bedsheets that monitor your breathing, heart rate and movement, so it can properly adjust the room’s temperature and lighting.
