Wi-Fi Moves Beyond Devices
Conexant Systems, which makes chips for broadband modems, is going to integrate Wi-Fi with its chips. This will allow broadband modems to share the connection as well as network with other Wi-Fi enabled products and share content and applications. This is a good first step but for advanced applications like streaming audio and video but I don’t think 802.11b has enough bandwidth. Such applications probably won’t be realistic till 802.11g launches.
