Samsung Licenses Nokia Series 60
Nokia can now count Samsung has a customer and a rival. Samsung has officially licensed Nokia’s Symbian based Series 60 phone UI, which is used in the Nokia 7650 picture messaging phone. Samsung seems to be hedging their bets. They are already working on Palm OS and PocketPC Phone Edition devices. This deal makes them the only device maker to have licenses for all three leading wireless device OSs. This puts them in an interesting position. One killer product from them could determine who wins the wireless OS war.
