Flirting With Danger

Danger has been getting lots of great press due to the iminent launch of it’s Hiptop wireless consumer device. Personally, we’re pretty bullish on this device. Both the device and data service are affordable and it does email and full HTML browsing. But not everyone is convinced that Danger can succeed. Stewart Alsop predicts that Danger will fail. He makes a number of valid points, but his arugument really boils down to one thing: the odds are against them. That’s true for any technology start-up. But we’re going to bet that T-Mobile will sell out of Sidekicks (T-Mobile branded Hiptop) well before Christmas and that it will be the first wireless data device to be a real consumer hit.
