iTV Attracts Attention, Not Viewers

from the business-of-the-future dept

I’ve complained before about various predictions about interactive television and here’s the Washington Post declaring that iTV is “the business of the future, and it always will be”. The article does make some good points about past iTV failures, but I’m beginning to change my mind about it. I think that complete, top-down, iTV systems are unlikely to catch on, but iTV is sneaking its way into many households via things like TiVO, which is an iTV platform in disguise. As the cable companies continue to integrate a TiVo-like platform into their offerings, and slowly add more services, I think people will one day realize that they have iTV and didn’t even realize it.
