Debunking DMCA Myths

from the let's-set-the-record-straight dept

I’m wondering if Declan McCullough is purposely trying out a few more controversial topics these days just to see the reaction he gets. His latest tries to downplay the bad side of the DMCA. As anyone who reads his writings knows, McCullough is certainly no fan of the DMCA. His argument is that those of us who hate the DMCA are doing more harm than good by overhyping the dangers of the law. To some extent, I think it’s a valid point. He even takes on the EFF for overpromoting some of their cases. However, the pro-DMCA camp certainly has a long history of overhyping their claims as well.
