AT&T Wireless Admits They Drop Too Many Calls

An exec from AT&T Wireless has actually admitted that some portions of their network drop way too many calls. Not surprisingly, it’s the old TDMA networks that aren’t living up to the standards that AT&T Wireless set for themselves to reach. While it’s no surprise that there are a ton of dropped calls, it is a bit surprising to actually have a senior exec from a mobile carrier admit to such a thing. I would like to believe it’s a sign of a new wave of “executive honesty”, but I fear it’s more likely to be their way of pushing people to sign up for their (more expensive) GPRS network.
