Employees Don't Feel Guilty About Surfing At Work

from the nor-should-they- dept

According to an online survey (and we all know how accurate that sort of data is likely to be) most folks don’t feel the slightest bit guilty about surfing the internet for personal reasons while at work. In fact, many consider high speed internet access at work a “perk” of the job. Of course, this doesn’t mean most companies are going to be any happier about their workers surfing on company time. It still surprises me how strict some companies feel they need to be with employees. While it’s obviously a problem if people aren’t getting their work done, employees who spend a small amount of time doing some personal surfing aren’t doing any harm, and are probably just as productive as those who are only focused on work all day.
