Bango.net Takes A Number

Red Herring has a short article talking about Bango.net’s attempt to make web surfing via mobile phones easier. It sounds like a fairly niche product. It lets people access URLs by converting them into numbers instead – in the theory that it’s much easier to type numbers into a mobile phone than URLs. Interesting idea, but it really seems like a tiny application and not a business. Not sure why a whole company needs to be focused on this offering.
