The Latest On HavenCo

from the still-going dept

I haven’t heard much about HavenCo in a while, so while this BBC article doesn’t say anything new about them, it’s good to know they’re still going strong. HavenCo is the company that’s officially based out of “Sealand”, a tiny British anti-aircraft platform that was declared its own country in the 1960s. The goal of HavenCo is to offer data hosting that is uncompromised by random laws that prevent free use of the internet. Of course, the UK doesn’t actually recognize it as an indpendent country and say that it would fall under any UK internet laws. It certainly will be interesting to see what happens when the first test case shows up.
