1B SMS Messages In The US
Now that most of the US carriers have implemented intercarrier SMS services, people are starting to use it. InphoMatch which handles intercarrier SMS for Verizon, AT&T and Voicestream reports they are handling close to 1B messages per month. Given how early it is in SMS adoption, there is plenty of room for growth. It will be very interesting to see how this impacts the carriers’ bottom line.
