We Have It Better Than We Think

Alan Cohen, VP of Marketing at Tahoe Networks, worries that the US is going to fall behind in productivity if we don’t do a better job of rolling out wireless services. Part of his argument is based his envy of European and Asian markets where networks are better built and support more data services. But things are getting better here. I’m not too worried about losing our productivity edge to other nations. US businesses tend to be much quicker to invest in information technology than their international counterparts. I’d be more worried if there was a report saying that Europeans and Asians are increasing the number of hours they work per week or taking less vacations.
