Your Desktop As A Rorschach Test

from the psychologists-and-technology-don't-mix dept

I may get into trouble with certain psychologists I know, but I get worried when they start looking too much at technology. They often seem to be coming up with solutions to problems that don’t exist, and answers to questions that haven’t been asked. That’s why, at the height of the dot com boom, we had to deal with the new disease of sudden wealth syndrome, and now we find out that an individual’s computer desktop can say a lot about their inner desires and ambitions. I think mine would say that I desire as much clutter in my life as possible. Amazingly, though, I cleaned up my desktop last week for the first time in two and a half years. I’m scared of what psychologists might think that means. I think it just means I ran out of screen space.
