Wi-Fi Just Paving The Way for UWB

So you’ve just set up a Wi-Fi network at home. Great. Guess what, it’s toast in 4 years according to new market research from In-Stat UWB will dominate home networking by 2006. UWB is more power efficient, has better range and more bandwidth, making it a perfect match for multimedia home networking. But here’s the thing, techologies rarely win because they are better, they win because of momentum (Beta/VHS, Mac/Windows, CDMA/GSM). UWB will be late to the game. The Wi-Fi industry is working very hard on the bandwidth issues and is very aware of UWB’s potential impact.
