Agere is selling off its branded Wi-Fi equipment business, Orinoco, to Proxim. This removes potential conflicts with OEM customers. The move is also a sign that the Wi-Fi is maturing to the point where focusing just on components is not only neccessary, due to competitive pressures, but financially viable.
