AT&T Wireless Cingular Merger May Make Sense
As we get closer to 2003 and the eliminiation of wireless carrier spectrum caps, consolidation is on everyone’s mind. Carriers constantly deny rumors but analysts believe consolidation is inevitable. Even AT&T admitted that a potential merger with Cingular could make sense. I’d be surprised if such a deal would ever be approved by either side’s management. Voicestream may be a more attainable target.
