Live Concerts As Movies

from the expanding-the-business dept

A few weeks back we had mentioned that among the possibilities for digital theaters was showing a live concert from another location to theater goers. It seems the rock band Korn is the first major music act to test this out. On Monday night they’ll be performing live in NY, while the concert is broadcast to a number of theaters nationwide. I think it’s a great idea, and shows that (finally) people in the entertainment business may be thinking about other ways to expand their markets beyond the traditional boundaries.
