More Cheap Airline Tickets

from the you-would-think,-by-now,-to-put-some-check-in-place dept

It’s really amazing that no one at United has thought to put a basic “check” system in place for their online fares. For the third time in a year, they’ve accidentally sold a number of tickets for well below what they intended to. This time, they had $5 fares up for about 45 minutes. The first time was forgiveable, but since then, it’s ridiculous. I’m sure there are plenty of things you could do, but simply adding an automatic check that won’t post fares that are a certain discount off the average fare without first being reviewed by a second (or third) human seems like a pretty easy way to catch these mistakes.
