Handspring Launches Treo Mail
Handspring Treo users now have access to a specially designed wireless email service. Treo Mail can retrieve email from internet and corporate email services. Users need to pull the email down via a circuit swithed GSM connection till Handspring upgrades the Treo to support GPRS later this year. Treo Mail is a subscription service in addition to Treo users’ wireless phone subscription. Wireless email may help increase Treo sales which have been slow to date. But given the Treo’s high cost, low battery life, and lack of GPRS service it’s unlikely.
