Vodafone Wants France
Well, actually they just want French wireless carrier SFR. This comes on the heels of the rumor that they and partner Vivendi want to dump their portal venture, Vizzavi. By getting out of the joint venture they can bid for SFR straight out and add France to their list of covered countries. As noted earlier, Vivendi can certainly use the cash. But Vodafone is sure to get some flack for this move due to their already high debt load.
