The Online Porn Bubble Has Popped As Well
from the not-so-hot dept
Even after the dot com bubble had burst, there were all these stories about how online pornography was still making money – and even how ex-dot commers were moving into the porn business to survive. Well, it seems that reality has set in there too. The boom times have passed for the online porn industry, as well. There are too many sites, and too much free content for porn sites to make an easy buck any more. While some of the bigger name sites have lived on, they’re finding it increasingly difficult to grow. So, for those of you who were thinking that now was the time to start your career in online pornography, you might want to think again.

Of little merit
The guys quoted in this story are the same guys
that tell everyone on the chat boards not to
get into the business. They don’t want a flood
of competition! Sure it’s hard work to sell a
porn website, but you can make a small profit
in as little as 2-3 months still.
Run it like any other real business and there
is still money to be made.
Check out http://www.gofuckyourself.com to see these
same guys spouting off about how terrible it is
and then read their bragging about 5 figure
paychecks a month in the very next posting.
Hmm...
The dot-com bubble burst, and the ex-dot-commers who were partly responsible for that bubble rushed to porn, whereupon the porn “bubble” burst. Whatever could be the connection?
