The Silence Machine

Another thing to put on the list of things that Techdirt wouldn’t mind if someone felt like sending a beta test version over. Some researchers have built a silence machine, that basically does what you’d expect. You know those noise cancelling headphones for use on airplanes? Well, make them speaker sized. The current versions still only block out continuous, predictable noise – but they’re working on a newer version that will adjust to other sounds, like talking and music. You can also use them to filter out specific sounds, while letting other noises through. I think I’d want the one with the “nagging” filter…
