Kazaa Decision Reversed

The Dutch appeals court today reversed a lower court’s decision and said that Kazaa could continue to distribute their software – and that they weren’t liable for how their users used the software. It seems like this is the first time in ages we’ve heard a court decision about this stuff that is actually sensible. Of course, due to the lower court decision, Kazaa sold all their assets to Australia, so it really doesn’t matter for them. However, the arguments they used were based on U.S. law, so some folks in the U.S. might want to chat with the Kazaa lawyers…
