Drop A Camera In A Lake For Artwork
from the silver-linings dept
Last summer, Farrell Eaves dropped his expensive digital camera into a pond in New Mexico. He then fished it out of the water, and spent quite some time trying to figure out a way to clean it out and dry it off. He finally got it to work again, but now, it takes very different photographs. It changes colors around and adds all sorts of funky effects automatically, and Mr. Eaves has no clue what any picture will look like until after he’s taken it. The article shows a number of examples, and I have to admit that some of them look pretty damn nice. Of course, you could do the same effects in PhotoShop or some other program, but the fact that the camera works as a “digital kaleidoscope” is kind of cool.
