SMS Games Gaining Popularity

from the kill-or-be-killed dept

An article about how location-based SMS games in Europe are becoming more popular. The games work by finding other people in the same cell site, who can then virtually battle using various weapons that the players choose. Of course, each move is done by sending out an SMS message – which costs money. The article mentions one guy who ended up spending $4,000 in one month trying to battle more people. How long until we start reading articles about people addicted to such games and who need to go to 12-step programs for wireless gaming addicts?
