What's Amazon's Encore?
from the for-my-next-trick... dept
A NY Times article looking at what Amazon needs to do next to execute on its vision of being the low-cost provider of just about anything you can order online. They point out that a number of factors worked to Amazon’s advantage in being a low price provider of books online, but those same factors are unlikely to work for other areas that Amazon is pushing. Of course, I’m not sure what other strategy Amazon could pursue. While people like Amazon’s customer service (mostly), ease of use and personalization, if they don’t stay at least near the lowest price on goods, they’ll lose customers pretty damn quickly.
