MusicNot And PressPause

from the music-services-only-a-politician-could-love dept

I don’t know about you, but I’ve pretty much ignored the release of the two “major label” backed music services, MusicNet and PressPlay. The little snippets I’ve read about them suggest that they’re somewhat annoying and not particulary useful. All that, and you have to pay for them as well. Wired is now suggesting that these services have been rushed to market to appease politicians who were making rumbling noises about coming in and forcing the industry to license its music to online companies. I’m still wondering how many people are actually signing up for these services and why? I have yet to see a real benefit for either one.
